Bombay - The commercial hub.jpeg "Bombay - The commercial hub") I went to work in Bombay or rather Mumbai in 2004, right from Kolkata. Bombay is the commercial hub of India. Most major businesses in India have their head offices in Bombay. Bombay is a fast city with great night life. Its also relatively expensive compared to other cities in India. The party animals of India are more prominent in Mumbai. In Mumbai, i had a chance of visiting Pune (The education city) and Bangarole (The IT city). I also had an opportunity of going to Goa (The best beaches in India). I still remember my apartment in Andheri, Lonavala caves, Marine drive, Juhu beaches (where i celebrated Diwali), Chowpatty beach and the famous Central railway station. Its in Mumbai that i managed to enter a Ganesh (god of wealth) temple and also an indian catholic church. Ganesh is the elephant god with a pot belly. Someone explained to me that his pot belly signifies his confidentiality; you can tell him your secrets and he will keep them safe. When i was in Bombay, i wanted to take a ship back home. Being a port, it was possible to take a ship all the way to mombasa. I did not manage to. It was expensive than an air ticket. And it would have taken me 3 weeks to get to Nairobi. |
